Hi! I'm Katy, a private chef and all things food enthusiast
based in Fife, Scotland.
Thanks to my foodie family, which consists of a Chinese Dad, a Scottish vegetarian Mum and an older sister who has anaphylaxis, I very quickly developed a passion for cooking, exploring new ingredients and blending food cultures and styles.
My interest in food reached new heights when I decided to apply to Masterchef UK and was accepted onto their 2021 cast. I made it to the quarterfinals cooking for the likes of John Torode, Gregg Wallace, William Sitwell, Irini Tzortzoglou and Jane Devonshire.
It was the most incredible experience and only enhanced my curiosity for food and flavour.
After working professionally in food development and event planning for a number of years, I realised there is nothing I love more than cooking for others and connecting with people who are just as passionate about food as me!
And so, Katy In the Kitchen was born!
I offer a one stop shop for a hassle free yet special dining experience.
I will travel to your own home or venue of choice with all of the required cooking equipment and crockery.
I then will cook your meal of choice, serve the food and host you and your guests. Most importantly, I will clean up afterwards leaving your kitchen the way it was before my arrival.
I offer a relaxed and informal service where you do not need to leave the comfort of your own home or worry about arranging taxis, designated drivers, childminders or expensive restaurant wine.
It's the perfect option for a birthday party, stag or hen do, anniversaries, family reunions and everything in between!
I specialise in cooking the food I grew up eating which is a
fusion of Chinese, Malaysian and Thai however I am not
limited to this as I love cooking food from all around the
globe using fresh, quality ingredients.
I have a range of existing dishes packed full of flavour and colour
that you can choose from, however I am also more than happy
to work with you to create something more bespoke
and tailored to your individual needs, dietaries and allergies.
I offer three course plated menus as well as more relaxed family style menus where food is placed in the middle of the table for guests to help themselves to and share from.
I can also provide canapés to kick off the dinner party and
buffet style grazing tables if you are looking for something more informal.
